Constitution

NAME

This organization shall be known as the "Prairie Young Peoples Association" of the Churches of Christ and affiliates.

OBJECT

The object is to promote an earnest Christian life among its members, to increase their mutual acquaintance, to train them in the work of the church, in every way make them more useful in the service of god and Jesus Christ.

MEMBERSHIP

The membership consists of all Young People's Groups of the Churches of Christ, Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Acappella, and other churches of by special permission of the executive, in western Canada and Northwestern United States of America who desire such fellowship. The age limit for P.Y.P.A. Is thirteen (13) years or attending junior high and up.

EXECUTIVE

The executive consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Music Convener, and Bible Bowl Presider. The executive shall be chosen from within the fellowship.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The executive committee shall consist of the executive, past executive, and the host church's youth executive and advisor.

DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE

President - Shall perform duties usually pertaining to that office and shall have a special watch over the interest if the organization and it shall be his/her duty to guide activities.

Vice President - Shall perform the president's duties in his/her absence.

Secretary/Treasurer - Shall deal with correspondence and handle all moneys of P.Y.P.A. And distribute it as agreed upon by the executive.

Music Convener - Shall arrange all the music at the conference and ensure that special numbers and such are planned for the program.

Bible Bowl Presider - Shall write, organize and quiz each bible bowl tournament.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The election of the officers will be held at the annual meeting of the organization; this business meeting date is to be settled at the preceding business meeting. The annual meeting will be held in the fall. A nominating committee, consisting of the present and past executive, will accept and screen names for election. Voting for the election of officers will be done according to section A article 9 (Voting). Term of office will be for three (3) conferences. The first will be as an intern capacity under the last executive, the past executive will be acting as a mentor. The new executive intern will no be directly responsible for the conference, but will do what is assigned to them by the past executive member holding their future position. The second conference, the newly elected committee becomes entirely responsible for P.Y.P.A. (New executive is voted in at this conference.). The third and final conference of their term is to serve in a mentor capacity to the new executive (Assigning jobs, etc.).

AMENDMENTS

Notice of planned amendments will be delivered to all the churches present at one or both of the two previous business meetings a minimum of two months before the business meeting where it is to be voted upon. This order of procedure may be amended at any regular meeting of the entire organization.

VOTING

Decision by voting may be reached be either of the following methods:

A) Matter can be voted upon and settled in Young People's business meeting (For example, the election of officers, etc.). All members being allowed to vote.

B) Matter can be voted submitted by mail and other convenient means to the various groups. These consider the subject, make and submit the decision to the executive. Majority decision is binding.

FORUM

It shall consist of those present at any business meeting (With at least 5 groups represented.) duly called by the executive and concerning which all groups have been informed.

MINUTES

Minutes of all P.Y.P.A. Business meetings and meetings of the executive committee must be submitted to any group that includes members of the association upon request.

CONSTITUTION

The constitution is to be read at each business meeting where election of officers occur of the above name organization.

ADVISORY

An advisory body consisting of the past executive shall keep a special watch over the association, and specifically over the position that each individual previously held.

FINANCIAL RECORDS

Financial books and records are to be audited ever November 30 and May 30 for the conference immediately prior to the date. Auditor is to be a previous Secretary/Treasurer of P.Y.P.A. That is of good renown.
